Is it Just Me…?

Is it just me, or are Tumblr posts getting more and more negative? I know that blogs are pretty much venting stations for most people, but c’mon! Soon, it’ll be Christmas!! However, I have to admit that these days, Christmas is not as exciting as it used to be. I remember the past Christmas breaks when I had nothing to do but wait for the greatest day of the year. I blame my lack of excitement on two things:

School and Weather.

School:

This is a given. With increasing years in high school, all students experience a directly proportional increase in schoolwork. I don’t see how it’s such a surprise to so many people…. Grade 10’s are going to have more work than they did in Grade 9. Grade 11’s are going to have more work than they did in Grade 10. etc etc. It’s time most of us man up, leap over this hurdle and run toward God’s greatest 2-in-1 gift: Winter Break and Christmas.

Weather:

…OMG. With La Nina, I was totally expecting a freaking blizzard of snow everyday but it’s quite obvious that the meteorologists who predicted this paid off their deans to get their meteorology degrees. Seriously. I’m so ready to be suffocated by the chilly bliss that is snow.

**I just want to take a moment to say that it’s really interesting how most of us really enjoy the pretty white snow while, not 200 years ago, it was dreaded and associated with death.

I could handle the schoolwork SO much better if there was snow falling outside of my window. Something about falling snow that soothes me, and allows me to have a cheerful attitude whilst doing my schoolwork, which in any other context would be… the worst.

Now! Time to document some exciting things that are coming up:

  • Fun times with my brother (who’s here for the holidays) and friends during the break.
  • Intense study sessions with my buddy ayook (name kinda sounds like a sneeze)
  • GEM Winter Retreat
  • Playing drums for the Christmas service at my church
  • Hopefully I’ll be able to attend YC and CLA also during the holiday season

***I’m sure it’ll snow… If we don’t have a white Christmas in VANCOUVER, CANADA, I will lose faith in my country. Also, expect a VERY ANGRY Tumblr post.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
